Remembering our Friend and Leader Mike Frisby
We would like to ask for your prayers as we share that one of our former leaders, our dear Mike Frisby, passed away on February 29th in the early hours of the morning. For those of you who don't know him, he was an instrumental member of the Farm of the Child Community and has supported the mission in significant ways over the years. He was a dear friend of Vincent and Zulena and helped the Farm survive during the early years after Vincent had passed. Although many of you may not have met him, he was involved with the Farm longer than anyone save Zulena and possibly our three original volunteers whom he considered and treated as his adopted daughters.
Over the years he gave his heart and energy to Farm of the Child USA by sharing his tremendous life experience and fatherly wisdom. He was quick to respond to need and instrumental in serving the community he loved in Honduras. Only a few years after Vincent's passing, Mike flew his own plane from Colorado to the Farm to bring aid in the wake of Hurricane Mitch when getting to the Finca was otherwise impossible. He was one of the Farm’s most important donors, he was personal friends and a confidant to Zulena and Vincent, he served on the inaugural board, he made extraordinary efforts to help the Farm at key crisis points, he individually supported our missionary community emotionally and financially, he provided great wisdom and leadership to all, he protected the Catholic charism of the organization, and he spread the word of the Farm so far and wide and brought to us many of our most loyal and beloved contributors. If you knew and loved Mike Frisby, you also knew and loved the Farm. We are in awe of his impact and are grateful for his gifts that he shared so generously with so many others in addition to the Farm of the Child community.
You may read more about his extraordinary life in his obituary here. We join together in thanksgiving for his life and pray for his eternal rest and for his family who mourn his passing and all who celebrate his life
