We Got a New Truck on Thanksgiving Day!

Reliable transportation enhances quality of life, particularly in rural areas like Farm of the Child, by improving connectivity, mobility, and access to additional services. Since our facilities are on the outskirts of Trujillo, Honduras, where the access roads are not always well kept, particularly during raining season, our staff and volunteers relay on our existing vehicle to complete vital operations like grocery shopping as well as emergency healthcare, social services and provide additional education opportunities for some of our residents. The only vehicle our children and staff counted on, was acquired 25 years ago and it was on much need of repairs.

Thanks to you, our loyal benefactors, and after much dealing and waiting a long time for documentation to be approved by the Honduras Government, our new truck arrived to Finca on Thanksgiving Day, and was met with great celebration and of course, the blessing by one of our beloved Priests in Trujillo. This was truly a Thanksgiving blessing!!

Birthdays, birthdays...

Birthdays are a time to celebrate God’s gift of life. When we say birthday prayers, we remind each other that all life comes from God. Think about it: every person is literally a gift from God! At Farm of the Child, between our staff, misioneros and residents, we have the opportunity to to celebrate this gift frequently, and we do it with much joy! May the Lord bring our October and November celebrants all the love their heart can hold, all the happiness a day can bring, and all the blessings a life can unfold. Happy birthday!

Child Spotlight

"Y" is growing up!

"Y" came to us when she was a small child, and this past month of October she celebrated her 13th birthday, time flies!! She is truly a loving and caring teenager, with much love to give.

Childhood is a time of creativity, and Y has a tremendous passion for arts and crafts, particularly hand sewing, stitching and embroidery. She is looking forward to dedicate her end of the school break to create some designs to gift and sell them within the local community.

Staff Spotlight

Who is an Unsung Hero?

“It takes a village to raise a child” is a common phrase used in society at large when describing the efforts required to bring a young person into the world. But who is a part of that village? At Farm of the Child, there are many “unsung heroes” that contribute to the growth and development of our children, as well as the productivity of our whole community, who may not get the recognition they deserve.

Clinical and medical staff, tias, misioneros, religious, maintenance, drivers, security personnel, teachers are all key parts of our “village” that deserve recognition year round. These adults dedicate their days (and often nights) to ensuring our children are provided with safety and support, while also often being a critical connection to get the support they need.

Pray with Us

Prayers

For our the repose of the soul of Jean (Bitunjac) Fuehrmeyer. Jean was a tremendous philanthropist and a great supporter of the work of Farm of the Child. We pray that the Lord grant her eternal peace, and may the memories of her faith and love, bring comfort to her loved ones.

For our beloved Nathalie and Kenna, as they prepare to finish their journey at Farm of the Child and start and new chapter in their lives.

For our current and former missioneros.

For our benefactors: For those who are ill, we pray for your healing touch to be upon them; for those in need of hope, that Your light will scatter the darkness in their life and fill them with Your love; for peace to reign in their hearts and the hearts of their loved ones.

For our current and former residents, that they may always listen to the voice of the Lord and walk always with Him, especially during difficult times.

Advent Family Prayer

Your son, Jesus, is your greatest gift to us.

He is a sign of your love.

Help us walk in that love during the weeks of Advent,

As we wait and prepare for his coming.

We pray in the name of Jesus, our Savior.
