Welcome Summer Vols!

This month we welcomed four new faces at the Farm of the Child to help us for the next two months as our misioneros are on vacation! Elizabeth, Jack, Abigail and Crockett have been busy covering in the school, tutoring after classes, working with our Bridge to Independent Living program and assisting wherever a need can be found. They've already been a part of many adventures and we are so grateful for their presence this Summer!

Mountain Medics Brigade

In early June we welcomed a Medical Brigade called Mountain Medics International joined us as they served those in the mountains surrounding us. Their mission facilitates overseas medical and dental mission trips focused on improving the health and quality of life of mountain communities that provide a home to some of our world’s poorest and under-served populations.

While they were with us they hosted a party for our community complete with barbecue, piñatas and music. We are grateful for the work that they were able to accomplish and healing they were able to bring to our neighbors.

Board Meeting and Hamptons Fundraising Event

Every year our Board of Directors comes together for a weekend of prayer, discernment, fundraising and strategic planning. This year we were hosted by the Pescatore family in Hampton bay, NY and were joined by the Vice President of our Honduran Board, Lawyer Victor Martinez. It was a wonderful weekend spent aligning goals, celebrating our outgoing members and welcoming the new, and raising funds for our organization.

We are particularly grateful this year for Peter Tooher who is leaving our Board of Directors after 12 years of service that was preceded by 3 years service at the Finca. As someone who has been a part of our organization for more than half of its existence Peter has been instrumental in helping us grow in stability. Thank you to Peter and his wife and former volunteer, Erin Ramsey Tooher and their 4 children for all of their sacrifices for this mission!
