House Celebrations

Each of our houses and buildings on the property are named after a patron Saint. During this Saints feast day, that house is in charge of throwing a small party for the whole community to come together. Below you can see the decorations for the Guadalupe house from their feast day in December. These Saints come to be a friend of our children and those living in the house and to create a sense of community among those living in the house.

Food Education

If you have every tried to feed children, you know how difficult it is to get them to eat something that is healthy! Thanks to our partnership with the Universidad Autónoma de Honduras, this past month, the tías (House moms) got the wonderful opportunity to learn about healthy cooking and eating from Nutritionist students at the University.

During the session pictured they discussed vitamins and nutrients, and prepped a quinoa recipe!

We are so grateful for the University helping in this way and the wonderful partnership we have with organizations around us!

27th Anniversary Celebration

This May 23rd the Farm of the Child celebrated its 27th anniversary. It was marked by Mass with the new Bishop of Trujillo, Bishop Jenry Mora, a party complete with feast, skits, awards for our employees and more! Thank you for everyone that helped us celebrate this amazing achievement of helping nourish, heal and educated those placed in our path for 27 years.

Last month in pictures

This month was busy with the arrival of our service coordinator, Ryan Clavelle, the ordination of our new Bishop, the 27th anniversary celebration and a gender reveal!

The McAuliffs will be welcoming their new baby girl in September in South Bend, IN where Drew will be continuing his studies with a Master's in Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. Please keep their family in your prayers.
